Phil Andersen. Experienced Litigator and Mediator.

For over 35 years Phil Andersen has developed his reputation as a well-respected attorney who can resolve disputes. He is the past president of the Contra Costa County Bar Association (2017) and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Most recently Phil enhanced his dispute resolution skills by obtaining his Masters of Arts from Saint Mary’s College in Marriage and Family Therapy.*

For 26 years he served as a mediator and arbitrator over 265 times for the superior courts in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, and Santa Clara Counties. He has accumulated over 800 hours of practical experience as a mediator.  Additionally, he has served as an instructor in mediation and negotiations and has received over 40 hours of formal live interactive mediation and negotiation training.

In 2000 Phil worked as a full time negotiator on high exposure cases venued in the western United States and Hawaii. During that time he negotiated over 50 cases and was recognized as one of the top negotiators for his company. In addition to those 50 high exposure cases, Phil has been involved in over 300 settlement conferences and mediations on the cases which he has handled over his 37 years of law practice.

Phil has extensive personal injury jury trial experience including 16 jury trials to verdict as the first chair trial attorney. Additionally, as a Managing Attorney, he oversaw more than 200 jury trials his firm tried throughout the Bay Area. He has advised and evaluated over 5,000 lawsuits which his office handled in the eleven Bay Area Counties. This vast experience gives Phil a broad perspective of case values and litigation practices.
